Hello everyone, I am Ariel and I happen to be a mermaid. I live in under the ocean in a kingdom called Atlantica which my father, King Triton rules over. I am the Princess of the sea.

My home is beautiful, but sometimes I long to be up on land where I can feel the cool wind blowing in my hair and the warmth of the sun. Also, a certain Prince of my heart lives ashore.
OOC; We have lost a Gaston

There goes my ship!

@ Cinderella

The sun was beginning to set. Beautiful strands of pinks, oranges, and purples where painted across the sky. Cinderella found herself walking along the stretch of beach where she normally went to collect her thoughts. The ocean had always mesmerized her. Staring out at the gorgeous sunset, she spotted her friend Ariel swimming in her direction. “Hello Ariel! How are you dear? I”ve missed you!

Ariel had swam to the ocean after an argument with Sebastian about her silly music classes and silly concerts which Ariel wanted no part of. The sunset looked so beautiful that all frustrations seem to have evaporated from her and she could sigh peacefully as she enjoyed the beautiful hues of orange, purple and red painted across the sky as the sun began to lower and disappear into the horizon.

Ariel looked back at the shore to see if she could spot anyone familiar which she did. A blonde haired friend by the name of Cinderella was calling out to her and with a swish of her tail and a few jumps, Ariel was close to the shore. “Hello Cinderella!” called out Ariel as she waved her hand. “I have missed you too!”

It took every last bit of self control Gaston had gained to not roll his eyes. Instead he took a few steps back towards her doing his best to look calm and ruggedly handsome. “Sweetheart, look. I’m not going to leave a beautiful lady like you defensless in the water in the dark. Just isn’t my style. Besides, if I left now how would I know where to find you again?” He grinned. Something small in the back of his mind told him that he might be coming off too strong, again, but he ignored it.

Ariel cocked her head to one side studying Gaston as he talked to her. For a second she could see some good in him aside from his good looks and charm, he cared for her safety. “You don’t have to worry about me being out here alone Gaston, I feel very much at home in the water.” said Ariel as she smiled at him before adding, “more so than you think actually” and chuckled to herself.

It took a few contradicting battles in her head deciding whether to tell him that she was not a human but a mermaid instead. But he did have that Blunder-thing that he used to hunt. What if he used it to hunt her? Shaking her head lightly and stared off into the horizon at the setting sun, she sighed to herself and decided to at least tell him her real name.

“Actually Gaston, I have to be honest with you. My name isn’t Ariana, it’s Ariel. I didn’t know if you could be trusted so I thought maybe if I told you a fake name and talked to you for a little bit I could tell if you were a good person or not. I’m sorry and I would understand if you’re mad at me for lying to you and want to leave.” said Ariel as she glanced back at Gaston staring right into his eyes with her apologetic blue eyes mirroring his own blue ones.

There were so many thoughts swimming about her mind that it had not occured to her that by sitting on one of the ledges like this exposed her to many more humans. Her fins were far from hidden from the water, even though her arms wrapped around them, the many scales on her fins reflected the light from the setting sun causing them to glitter and shine.

Sighing, Ariel placed her head on top of her arms as she stared at the sun setting far off in the horizon with her arms around her fins. Today was one of those days where her father and her just didn’t see eye to eye about humans. I don’t think they are as bad as he thinks they are, I already know so many of them that are so nice!

Furthermore, if only her father knew about Prince Eric. How he was so handsome with his dark locks and bright blue eyes that seem to match the color of the ocean. If only he could understand that she has in fact fallen in love with a human and there was no way for them to be together unless she could be a human.

“If only I knew how I could become a human. I would walk to Prince Eric’s castle and talk to him.” whispers Ariel to herself. This was a hopeful wish as she knows there was no way her father, Flounder or even Sebastian would agree to helping her find a solution. Please, I just want to be a human even if only for one day.

Pocahontas sat on the sea shore, the waves calmly and gently kissing her calves. It was a calm evening but growing chilly, and she hadn’t worn her winter deer pelts. She was custom to the cold however, so she wasn’t in a rush to leave. Meeko scoured the sand for oysters and clams, and Flit perched warming himself in Pocahontas’ hair.

She smiled a little, running her index fingers softly up and down his feathery stomach. She missed John Smith, she missed her father, she missed Nakoma, and she missed Grandmother Willow. She looked across the sea as if at any moment they would all appear in canoes, or ships, or even swimming.

“I still have you little Flit.”

Meeko ran towards her throwing sand under his paws every which way, and he plopped several shells in her lap. He chattered at her, lovingly.

“Yes, and you Meeko!” She chuckled, “Thank you.”

The shells were all empty of meat, and this made her laugh even more. She put the shells back on the sand, and picked up a basket she had filled (and secured) with her own oysters for dinner. She stood, brushed the sand from her dress, and began to walk back up towards the forest.

Before she could get far something made her turn back towards the ocean, and there she stood transfixed.

Ariel was up on the surface again. This time she found many different treasures she had not seen before from another sunken ship and she wanted to know what they were. But when she came up looking for Scuttle, he was no where to be found. Determined to find out what these treasures were, Ariel swam around longer hoping to spot Scuttle. Perhaps if she was lucky, she would see a familiar ship and a familiar Prince on it too.

What caught Ariel’s eyes were the dark haired lady by the shore. Ariel had to strain her eyes a little to make out clearly who it was. When Ariel saw who it was, Ariel waved her hand above her head and calling out her name hoping to catch her attention before she left. “Hello Pocahontas!”

The moment Gaston asked her how she managed to go searching for treasures in sunken ships, she realised her mistake. Mentally scolding herself for being so foolish and to not have realised she had slipped up, Ariel twirls her hair with her fingers awkwardly while biting at her lips nervously. “o-oh. Well there are s-some sunken ships that are pretty close to the surface. It isn’t that far down. One deep breath w-would be enough.” Looking away to hide the uneasiness in her eyes, Ariel hoped that he would not have noticed anything. Should she at least tell him her name is not Ariana and leave? “we have been here for long, do you not have somewhere to be Gaston?”

This girl must have the lung capacity of a puffer fish. It was actually impressive, and caused Gaston to look her over again. Something wasn’t right. She was looking away from him. Did he lose her interest? He sighed. He could tell she didn’t want him around anymore. Damn it. Maybe he could turn this around. “It is getting rather late. I didn’t mean to keep you this long. Please accept my sincerest apologies.” He turned around and started wading back to the beach. “I’ll walk you home.”

Ariel looked at Gaston wading back to the beach following slowly behind him wondering why was he headed that direction. “I’ll walk you home.” said Gaston as he continued to wade back to shore. That made Ariel stop abruptly.

“Walk?” It would be hard to wriggle herself out of this situation now. “I-it’s alright Gaston. You don’t h-have to do that.” says Ariel awkwardly as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “I was going to enjoy the sunset for a while. I never do get to enjoy the beautiful sight often enough. But if you must leave, then you can.”
